On March 23rd, 1775, Patrick Henry addressed the Second Virginia Convention in favor of mobilizing an armed force against the encroaching British military.

Patrick Henry was an attorney, politician, orator, and champion of individual liberty before, during, and after the American Revolution.

Best known for his iconic “Give me liberty, or give me death!” speech, Henry was an active member of the resistance movement, and subsequent American Revolution, against the colonial British government. Following the revolution, he was elected as the first post-​colonial govenor of Virginia.
