Brad Birzer

Biography

Bradley J. Birzer is professor of history and Russell Amos Kirk chair in American studies at Hillsdale College.

He is the author of In Defense of Andrew Jackson (2018), Russell Kirk: American Conservative (2015), and J.R.R. Tolkien’s Sanctifying Myth (2003) among other books and scholarly articles. In 2010, he co-​founded the website The Imaginative Conservative. A lover of progressive rock and progressive jazz, he co-​founded Prog​a​rchy​.com in 2012, a website dedicated to progressive rock.
