In this video, Bruce Evoy performs Henry’s iconic “Give me liberty, or give me death!” speech. The speech was given to House of Burgesses on March 23, 1775 in favor of mobilizing an armed force against the encroaching British military at the start of the American Revolution.
Patrick Henry (1736-1799) was an attorney, politician, orator, and champion of individual liberty during the American Revolution. He was elected as the first post-colonial govenor of Virginia.
Bruce Evoy (1923-1998) was the founder of the Libertarian Party of Canada and the former director of the International Society for Individual Liberty. Evoy was best known for his electrifying performances in period costume of U.S. Revolutionary heroes.
