Bruce Evoy delivers Patrick Henry’s iconic “Give me liberty, or give me death!” speech at the Virginia Libertarian Party convention in 1981.

Marshall Bruce Evoy was the founder of the Libertarian Party of Canada and the former director of the International Society for Individual Liberty.

Evoy was best known for his electrifying performances in period costume of U.S. Revolutionary heroes, such as Patrick Henry, Thomas Jefferson, and George Washington.  

Patrick Henry was an attorney, politician, orator, and champion of individual liberty before, during, and after the American Revolution.

Best known for his iconic “Give me liberty, or give me death!” speech, Henry was an active member of the resistance movement, and subsequent American Revolution, against the colonial British government. Following the revolution, he was elected as the first post-​colonial govenor of Virginia.

In this video, Bruce Evoy performs Henry’s iconic “Give me liberty, or give me death!” speech. The speech was given to House of Burgesses on March 23, 1775 in favor of mobilizing an armed force against the encroaching British military at the start of the American Revolution.
